Types of Wire, Cords & Cables We Supply
THHN / THWN Building Wire
Single-conductor wire for conduit and raceway installations — THHN for dry locations, THWN for wet or damp locations. The most common choice for commercial and industrial branch circuits.
Romex (NM-B) Cable
Non-metallic sheathed cable bundling multiple THHN-type conductors in a single PVC jacket — the standard for dry, indoor residential wiring.
XHHW Wire
Cross-linked polyethylene insulation built for commercial and industrial applications, with strong resistance to heat and moisture.
Bare & Stranded Copper Wire
Grounding and bonding conductors for panels, equipment, and structures, available in a range of gauges.
Cords & Cord Sets
Extension cords, power cords, and portable cord assemblies for jobsite, industrial, and facility use.
Coaxial & Low-Voltage Cable
Coaxial and control cable for data, video, and low-voltage wiring — paired with our DataComm product line for complete installations.
THHN vs. Romex vs. XHHW: What’s the Difference?
The wire gauge needed for a given circuit — for example, 12 AWG copper for a standard 20-amp circuit — stays the same across THHN, XHHW, and Romex, since ampacity is set by conductor size, material, and temperature rating rather than insulation type. What changes is where each type is used: Romex (NM-B) bundles several conductors in one PVC jacket and is built for dry, indoor residential wiring. THHN is a single conductor used in conduit for commercial and industrial branch circuits in dry locations, while its wet-rated counterpart THWN handles damp or wet environments. XHHW uses cross-linked insulation and is common in larger commercial and industrial installations where extra heat and moisture resistance is required.
