The electrical distribution industry seems to be in a constant state of change. Whether it’s because distributors are changing product lines, adding or removing branches, or being bought out by the big corporate companies. There was a time when most of these businesses were small, family-owned, and operated. You knew everyone by name and could count on the personal integrity of the owners to serve your business needs as if they were their own. You may think those days are gone. Think again!

Let me introduce you to ATEK Distribution. We are a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) wholesale distributor of Electrical Apparatus and Equipment, Wiring Supplies, and Related Equipment. My name is Jeff Anderson, and I’m the President, Co-Founder, and CEO. We started this business from scratch to provide you with the electrical solutions and personal service you expect but often find lacking in our industry today. As an officer in the United States Marine Corps, while serving in the Gulf War and Somalia, I learned the value of hard work, integrity, and the commitment to accomplishing the mission. Let me share a few examples of past and current projects that prove we can support your local, national, and international needs.

Local

ATEK Distribution worked with the University of Minnesota to provide critical infrastructure for a systems upgrade. The upgrade increased capacity to provide power to 3 new buildings that the university constructed. ATEK provided 15kV medium voltage, vault-mounted SF6 gas switchgear to build out necessary upgrades. The project was part of a larger remodeling project.

National

ATEK Distribution provided lighting, load centers, panelboards, and miscellaneous electrical materials to support the new construction of state-of-the-art senior living facilities in Ladd, Newton, and Henry, Illinois. These HUD-funded locations were part of a funding initiative by Illinois to increase services in smaller municipalities. Working with a local minority contractor, ATEK got all materials delivered on time and in place.

International

The United States State Department created a project to modernize and upgrade lighting at the American Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan. ATEK Distribution provided all of the LED lighting for the UNISON-sourced project. The project resulted in significantly increased energy savings with lower maintenance overhead.
